Gillies Fine Foods are listed in Rick Stein’s Guide to the Food Heroes of Britain – and justifiably so. Included in the family-run company’s repertoire are award-winning preserves, marmalades and the famous Clootie - a modern version of the traditional Clootie Dumpling (a moist delicious fruit slice of which has to be tasted to be believed).
The Mey Selections Barrogill Whisky Marmalade is now a firm favourite for all marmalade lovers with just a hint of the Scottish elixir in the recipe to give anyone’s breakfast toast a real wake up moment.
Su and Ruari prepare all their products for Mey Selections to bespoke recipes, using local ingredients wherever possible. Raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, rhubarb and beetroot all come from growers in the North Highlands and their flavours benefit from the longer day lengths.
Their products have no artificial additives, flavourings and preservatives. What’s more, they are traditionally hand-made in small batches in order to ensure maximum flavour and quality.
