Stewart McConnach learned much of his baking craft from his father. He was born in the Orkney Islands and raised in the Highlands of Scotland where he has never been far from a baker’s oven. His traditional all-butter Scottish shortbread made to a recipe unique to Mey Selections uses only the finest ingredients and contains no additives, no added salt, or preservatives.
Stewart formed Caithness Biscuits just over a year ago and has developed Mey Selections shortbread by following his belief that the best biscuits are those that are hand-made.
Caithness Biscuits is based in Forss, Thurso, about 16miles from John O’ Groats in the North Highlands. The biscuits look and taste just as if they were made in your own kitchen and with the same loving care. If you want a delicious treat that is rich but isn’t too sweet, or if you want a biscuit that will perfectly balance your coffee or tea, you can’t beat one of Stewart’s shortbread biscuits.
