Sheep are a traditional part of the Scottish farming scene but the wool from the region is a by product with low value – not any more, as Mey Selections has now launched a range of wool textile products woven from the wool of the North Highlands by Johnston’s of Elgin – who have been making tweed since 1797.
The tweeds are woven in two soft colourways inspired by the wild coastal regions of Northern Scotland, and are made into a wide range of products. Items for the home and outdoor leisure such as armchairs, footstools, cushions, rugs and picnic rugs, hats ties and scarves are designed to blend beautifully into traditional and modern interiors. The gift range includes favourites such as address books and bags.
Inspired and supported by HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, the Mey Selections brand pays its suppliers a fair price for its premium products, actively supporting the sustainability of businesses and communities in the North Highlands.
