In creating Mey Selections products today we have tried to safeguard tomorrow's environment for our children. The profits from Mey Selections will benefit local people and businesses and help work towards a sustainable Scotland.
Reducing carbon emissions in our business is a huge priority in 2008 and we are proud to work with The Carbon Trust on innovative methods of minimising carbon emissions. In February 2008 Mey Selections became the first Scottish SME (Small Medium Enterprise) to become involved with the Carbon Trust's product carbon footprinting and labelling initiative.
As well as carbon friendly labelling we work tirelessly to ensure new product lines support long term -
sustainable business growth for local farmers and people. With this in mind we have our new tweed range which in April 2008 was presented to TRH The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay.
The new tweeds epitomise the values of the Mey Selections in that they utilise the fleeces of sheep from the North Highlands and the local design and manufacturing skills of Johnstons. This not only guarantees the provenance and quality of the wool but promotes jobs and skills in the North Highlands region. The perfect blueprint for current and future Mey Selections products.
